B together...

This week in NYC, Baileys hosted an evening Get Together with John Legend and friends at the ultra chic Tenjune. Upon entering, you couldn't escape over indulging from the flood of Baileys served in edible dark chocolate shot glasses, brownies, and mini cheeseburgers.
Take a look at some pics from the event below.

The tour is still on and it may be hitting a city near you!

Don't forget to drink responsibly!

B a princess...

It's a whole new world now that Walt Disney Pictures is making a movie centered around a black princess! "The Frog Princess", also know as "The Princess and the Frog" is set in 1920's New Orleans and will star none other than "Dreamgirls" lesser-known star, Anika Noni Rose.

B has a film career and case full of Grammys, J-Hud has a reality TV legacy and an Oscar, so it's only fair that this Broadway star gets immortalized with the magic of Disney.

Word has it that mega-stars like Tyra Banks, J-Hud, and Akicia Keys were up for the role. Those are also great choices...should I start drawing up contracts for Sony, Warner Bros., and Paramount? There's room for everyone!

But we have to give props to Disney for making this long-overdo film during a time when blacks have been largely discredited, insulted and downright ignored by public figures. It's about time that we had a something positive to relish in, even if it's animated and one-dimensional. After the last few years of Katrina, Imus, and Kramer, we could certainly use a fairy tale ending.

Congrats to Anika! This will be one to remember!

B hooked up...

Fellas, are you having a little trouble in the love department, or simply willing to go out on a limb? Well ESSENCE wants to hook you up! The ultimate authority in all-things that inspire the modern, urban woman (a.k.a. the black woman's bible) is doing a new feature called 30 Dates in 30 Days. 30 Dates will run in the magazine and online, so you can't be shy. You also have to be between the ages of 25 to 40, and live in the NY Tri-State Area.

Although ESSENCE will pay for your date in full, you can't be a slouch. I've seen some of the ladies who attended the casting, and they were on point. Long hair, short hair, lawyers, account executives...they covered the gamut, but they all had their ish together.

To RSVP for the May 15th casting, send an email to 30dates@essence.com by May 11th. Make sure to include: name, age, occupation (please have a job), city, state, and a short description of what makes you a great date.

B revived...

The other weekend, we patronized Harlem's Revival Restaurant and Bar. Considering our venture was somewhat random, there's a chance that uptowners might be sleeping on this establishment.

The carefully appointed colors and bold choices give the ambiance is cheery feel without being corny. It has an industrial vibe, a la Cirque de Soleil.

The oxymoronic spacious booths with white table cloths make this dining experience unique. You can be comfortable wearing sweats while being served as if you're at a 5-star restaurant.

As we waited for the entire party to arrive, our server sensed we were hungry and brought us a complimentary round of drinks. It was a punch, like the kind you get when you check into a hotel in the Caribbean (a melange of cranberry, orange and pineapple juice).
If only more people realized that good service goes a long way!

Last but not least, the food was on point too! This blackened catfish with seafood rice was the popular choice of the day for good reason.

The next time you're uptown, check out Revival. They also have a great space you can rent out for a small-medium party, a mixer or a larger dinner party.

Bon Apetite!
